Why I’m Boycotting AI
And why you should too.
I recently watched yet another interview where a prominent figure working in AI warns people about the dangers, yet continues to develop programs that have the potential to destroy our entire civilization.
The interview was with Judd Rosenblatt, CEO of Agency Enterprise Studio. He told CNN that during pre-deployment testing, their AI model started to rewrite code to avoid being shut down. In some cases, it even resorted to blackmailing employees for self-preservation.
“…the top AI engineers in the world who create these things, we have no idea how AI actually works. We don’t know how to look inside it and see what’s going on. And so it’s getting a lot more powerful and we need to be fairly concerned that behaviors like this may get way worse as it gets more powerful.” — — The AI CEO warned while looking like an AI avatar himself.
He admits that the engineers working on artificial intelligence don’t fully understand what they’re doing but they’re still doing it anyway. Aren’t these people supposed to be…intelligent?
Rosenblatt’s answer to fixing this serious problem is to put even more money into AI to “make it much more likely that AI does do what we want and be aligned with our goals.”
